Stephen Crane, Emily Dickinson, Ernest Hemingway, and Robert Frost just a few of the famous authors, we are related to!  Yes!  I can’t believe it either! No wonder, our family loves telling stories and writing….It’s in the genes! 

When I first began researching the family tree on Ancestry.com, I came across information on famous relatives that could possibly be related. It is so much fun checking out all the information. Some information is accurate; some I am still trying to figure out if the information is true. As I check information, I will eventually add information to our infamous bunch of relatives.

Yes, I double-check; I have to make sure the information is true, and I also have a younger brother, who should have been a lawyer who questions EVERYTHING! Yes, Keith, I mean you!   After telling him all my exciting news, he rolls his eyes, and says, “Uh-huh, next you’ll be telling me we are related to Lucille Ball!” Well….I haven’t started the research yet…but…according to rumor control, we may actually be related to Lucille Ball. Sshh, don’t tell Keith because I haven’t followed the trail of clues yet.

We may also be related to Walt Disney, Susan B. Anthony, Francis Lightfoot Lee, Edward Doty, Sam Houston, Mary Perkins, and some may have even been famous bandits.  More information to follow!

Through my research adventures, I have found that we have some interesting ancestors. Some were apart of the American Revolution, some sailed from France to Canada and then made their way to the United States. Some were ostracized from their communities for being kind to others.  Others were pioneers as they traveled to new frontiers and territories in this country. And I discovered a common theme in my research. Our people are survivors, for we are strong people who do not give up; we are family.
