Laughter in the Classroom

Some days, these little ones make me laugh. I have a boy in one of my classes. He comes into my first hour and says, “Open up your hand.” I open my hand, and he dumps all these coins into my palm.

I look up, and he remarks, “My dad said to give this to you because you should make extra money for having to teach me.” We started laughing; this kiddo has a good sense of humor.

I then tell him, “Open up your hands.” I give him back all the coins, and I continue, “Tell your dad this is not enough; he needs to take out a small loan….”
