About Me

Tales of a Family began as a cozy corner for collecting memories, little stories tucked between generations like treasures in an old cedar chest. Over time, it sprouted into a lively mix of family lore, wandering thoughts, short stories, poetry, and the occasional mountain-inspired daydream. Here, the ordinary becomes magical, the past whispers its secrets, and every tale helps chart the winding path toward home. Pull up a chair, grab a warm drink, and wander through the stories that stitch a family, and a storyteller—together.

Hi, I’m Annie, a sixty-something woman, a teacher, a lover of the mountains, and someone who believes deeply in the power of stories—both the ones we live and the ones we imagine.

I began Tales of a Family as a place to capture the small, honest, heartwarming, and often hilarious moments of everyday life and family history. What started as a personal family journal for family stories and histories has grown into something much bigger— a home for memories, imagination, and all the stories that shape who we are.

Over time, this space expanded beyond real-life moments. Now, it also includes fictional short stories, flash fiction, and poetry—pieces inspired by the emotions, wisdom, and simple beauty that come with age, family, and a life spent learning and exploring.

Some stories here are true.
Some are imagined.
All of them come straight from the heart.
