This ninety-five-year-old main street theatre was once the venue for Broadway productions, silent films, and burlesques shows. It sits in the center of the village, complete with a marquee, lobby, and balcony.
Just a day or two before Christmas, a duplex on base caught on fire. The family with small children lost everything, including all the Christmas toys. In the spirit of giving, families wanted to help this family, so the little ones would still have Christmas gifts under their tree.

Yes, I have known for a while now, I lead an “exciting” life. More often than not, I have felt like that cliche spinster teacher that lives by herself in a house filled with stray cats, except in my case I have mini doxies. Even my own daughter calls me the crazy doxie lady. Sigh.

Well, my buddies and I actually did it one day with Rick Van Bebber serving as our leader du jour. Rick was an audacious and charismatic kid who often came up with ideas that took us to where too-much-fun turned into downright-dangerous. Thus we often made him our leader.
