Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

One of the best gifts I ever received was my pup, Mitzi. My dear friend, Cathy let me pick out my special girl from a litter of pups; she was one of four. I wanted two, so Mitzi would not be alone, but at that time all the pups were spoken for. At the last minute, one pup, my Max, became available. The man who wanted him could not take him at the last minute, and I am so thankful. My little Muttley Crew has changed my life, and I adore this pair.

    Of course they’re adorable, but what’s the story with their collars? What are those little boxes; tracking devices, emergency peanut M&Ms, pet walkie-talkies so you can whisper to them from afar??

    inquiring minds and all. . .

    oh, and what are their breeds? They look like a mix of two common breeds but what do I know…?

The collars are training collars. But I like the idea of an emergency stash for M & Ms….lol. When we are out on adventures, the pair can roam but if they scamper too far away, I can send a “beep.” Once they hear this reminder, they run back to me. Since they are escape artists too, I use the collars a lot. When I take them to my school, they love to explore and race around the hallways, so the collars allow them to run but helps me keep track of them.

    They are miniature dachshunds, and the most stubborn breed I have ever owned. They are a challenge, but I believe they have trained me well…
