What endures through the ages?

Is it the classic love tale of two wise souls?

Love notes written on their hearts over the years

Or a child that grows in kindness

and in compassion and promises to

make the world a better place?

Is it a song written from within

to remind the world of its beauty?

Or is it a heartfelt speech to just

entreat that we love one another?

Endurance comforts a crying child-

It’s a hug and a gentle word

when life begins to crumble.

It’s a tender smile

and a helping hand.

It’s humanity in action.

It’s a sleeping baby

snuggled in a mother’s arms.

It’s a “just read me one

more story.”

It’s a list of days

and precious moments

branded on our souls

It’s a lifetime of little things

that reminds those were

really the big moments

that added up to

a perfectly wonderful

messy, little life!
