In April, my students and I began working on our poetry chapbooks. For one of the poems, we wrote a list poem. List poems have always been fun, for they can rhyme or not, and they can pretty much be about anything.
Things:
to do waiting for a bus
kids say to their parents
you should have done
wish you would have done
that make you feel smart, special, tall…
you find in a grocery store, in your brother’s bedroom…
you hear on a playground
You get the idea, so each year, I enjoy doing the chapbooks along with my kiddos…so here is my playlist of the week….
A Teacher’s List: Things A Teacher Will Say in the Classroom
- Good morning class,
- How is you day?
- If you don’t work,
- A price you’ll pay.
- Do not talk,
- Or even sneeze.
- No, you may not,
- Do as you please!
- Do your work,
- And write your name.
- No, this is not,
- Some kind of game.
- Being good is a must,
- Or another student
- Will bite the dust!
Yes I remember teachers saying them! Cute post and I’m going to write those down and have my granddaughters write their answers! I’ve enjoyed your posts and have added you to my favorites on my reflection post!!!!

Aww thanks…my grand daughters laughed at my poem too. You are on my list too. When I go to reader, the first thing I do is search for your work.

Nice to make new blogger friends! Many of my ancestors went by Bryant, I used to get mad in school when the teacher put a T on my Bryan. LOL

This is nice! Who knows maybe will discover that you are supposed to have that T, or maybe I am not supposed to have one. We may even be cousins! lol
