The Sunshine Blogger Award

Yesterday after a long day at work, I found the most unexpected and amazing surprise waiting for me on my blog. A dear fellow blogger nominated me for The Sunshine Blogger Award! My Daisy Daze left me a sweet message to let me know about her kind-hearted nomination, and she delivered some encouraging words about my stories.

Please check out her site, My Daisy Daze, and read her creative thoughts on life and living, her crazy, fun-filled poetry, and her words of wisdom and inspiration that she shares with her friends and followers.

MY QUESTIONS

If you could only listen to three pieces of music for the rest of your life, what would they be?

One of my all time favorite songs is I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me. Although I play that song all the time, I never tire of it. That song touches me to my core. My bestie song will always You’ve Got a Friend by James Taylor. And my funky dance song is Brick House by the Commodores.

What is your favourite ‘chillin’ vacation destination?

My favourite (love British English!) ‘chillin’ vacation destination is definitely on a beach! I grew up on a island in the San Francisco Bay, so beaches are important to me.  I have loved the Pacific Coastlines, the soft “flour” beaches on San Padre Island, The Atlantic Coastline in Delaware, North Carolina, and Florida.  Oh, and I can’t forget the beauty of Key West.  Next stop…Hawaii…or the maybe the Bahamas….

Who is your favourite traveling companion?

When I hit the road, my favorite traveling companion is my Goun Girl, Barbara M. we have so much fun in Florida and Key West, and in Colorado. We have been besties since we met in sixth grade in Mrs.Westmoreland’s class.

When I travel around home in Colorado, I have two sweet sidekicks that travel with me.  I have a pair of miniature dachshunds, Max and Mitzi.

Did you want to be an animal when you were young and if so, which one?

When I was younger, I loved the water.  My secret fantasy was to be a mermaid, close enough to an animal, right?  My friends and I would find long, flowing skirts and swim in our kiddie pools and pretend that we were mermaid friends.

When you are blogging, is there something close to your computer that makes you smile while you work? Will you tell us what it is?

When I am blogging, I am usually in my bed.  Due to a back injury, it is easier to type while reclining.   My two furbabies love to cuddle with me while I work on my computer, and they also let me know when I need to take a break.  If I have been on the computer too long, they start snuggling close or begin to whine.  That’s their signal to let me know they want some love and attention.   And of course, their playful antics, while I am blogging, always makes me smile.

  2. Thank you for responding to the questions, I loved your answers, especially of being a mermaid, it’s perfect. Dogs make the best travel companions; they will walk as long as you want to and if you stop for a beer at every corner pub they don’t complain. Have a lovely weekend.
